Covid19 Facts…where are They?

There is so much CV19 disinformation and harmful information, it is time for the City to determine how they can distribute info to all residents.  Some ideas are:
1) take over billboards
2) get all the utility statements to include aflyer in bills
3) provide official city flyer to pharmacies, grocery stores & any business allowed to stay open & sell food (since peo are allowed to venture out to buy food)…

…dialysis clinics, MARTA bus rail, etc.

There are people who do not have a TV!

In communities not connected to cable or internet, it could be their only lifeline. There is so much MISINFORMATION, we’ve got to think outside the box to reach everyone… especially those most vulnerable.

You might have some communication ideas to share with cities and counties across Georgia.  When our state leaders fail to act on CV19 pandemic in a time manner, we see it results in mass deaths. Therefore, we have to save ourselves…prayer is faith in action.  No one cares more about our family and friends than us. So what are you waiting on…for someone close to you to die?  Now that would be selfish and unacceptable!!

Celebrate Juneteenth and Fort Mosé

It is unfortunate that most people do not celebrate Juneteenth because they either have never heard of it or do not know what it is.  So, here are the facts sbout a critically important date in American, not just Black American, history:

This Essence article blew me away because I had not heard of Fort Mose, have you?

Wow!  African American/Black history is so rich and filled with stories of courage, sacrifice, determination and a few victories along the way.  Fort Mose’ near St. Augustine,  Florida is just as important as Black Wallstreet in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Please share with you circle of influence:

The more we know, the more we understand.

The more we understand, the more we grow.

The more we grow, the more we share.

The more we share, the more people we educate.

The more people we educate, the more power we acquire:

Truth is knowledge. Applied knowledge is power…

To apply knowledge, we form viable strategic plans.

Viable strategic plans are responsible for (just to name a few major accomplishments):

the Underground Railroad, Black Wallstreet, HBCUs, Mayor Harold Washington, the 40-hour work week, child labor laws, OSHA, public transit, the right to vote, Social Security, Medicare & Medicaid, Mayor Harold Washington, Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm, President Barack Obama, and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio.

As we keep working our strategic plans, we will also have victories that include:

Healthcare for all,  reparations, equal pay for equal work, dismantling of the prison industrial complex vis-a-vi…elimination of racial profiling, and equal justice under the law.

Get informed.

You are either part of the problem or part of the solution!

Ben Hill Post Office

IMG_0699

This picture of our beloved Ben Hill Post Office, at 2260 Fairburn Road in souhwest Atlanta, was taken on July 9, 2017. Earlier today, it still looks the same.  It is totally unacceptable for this window to remain boarded up!!

So how long does it take to replace a U.S. Post Office window after a car drives through it??  When will it be replaced?  Why won’t Congressman John Lewis’ staff return phone calls after a month of voice mail messages have been left and  emails have not been acknowledged?  Why won’t this station’s Postmaster return calls?

Anyone who knows and understands the “broken window syndrome” knows that this broken window is a bad sign in an otherwise decent neighborhood.

Do Post Offices across the city and state have the same delayed and ignored responses when their community leaders make inquiries?

We need answers as rumors throughout the community are indicating that the Post Office will close due to maintenance concerns about the building.  These are rumors.  We want facts.
